My Story

On Sunday I am running with my Mum to raise money for EON which is an incredible organisation that creates edible gardens in remote schools and communities providing a source of fresh fruit and vegetables. They teach the children how to grow plants in tough conditions and then how to prepare the food they've grown into healthy meals. They have 24 gardens now in WA's remote communities and have been shown to have a real impact.

We've created this team because we want to raise money and make a difference in the health and nutrition of children and their families living in remote Aboriginal communities.

We are passionate and determined about our organisation’s vision of improving health and reducing preventatable, chronic disease in remote Aboriginal Communities.

Our Program, the EON Thriving Communities Program, is unique in Australia and in February 2018, it was featured as a successful case study - ‘Outstanding Local Solutions Delivering Exciting Outcomes - in the 2018 Closing the Gap Report, (pages 103 and 114).

The EON Thriving Communities Program has been delivered in 24 communities in Western Australia with great success.

Demand for the Program from schools and communities is high with more than 20 communities waiting to join the Program at any given time, subject to funding.

Please read more about our work and how we are different at www.eon.org.au and some of our latest successes at www.eon.org.au/news. Please also sign up for our newsletters via the 'subscribe' button on our website and/or our updates on social media @eonfoundation.

Please support our ‘Closing the Gap’ objectives by giving whatever you can by joining our team, participating individually or creating your own team and raising funds for the EON Foundation using the 'Give Now' button.

The more people that know about EON Foundation, the greater the potential for change, so please spread the word by sharing with your friends and family.

Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!
