My Story

Pancreatic cancer is the fifth most common cause of cancer death in Australia. It is highly difficult to diagnose and treat and often holds a poor prognosis for patients. Working as a nurse on a ward that sees many patients with the diagnosis of pancreatic cancer I see the heartbreaking and tremendously difficult journey that many patients and heir families endure. In collaboration with my colleagues we have decided to join as a team "Whipples it Good" to raise awareness and raise money for research by completing the HBF run for a reason. The money raised from this will aid in the important research completed by the GI cancer institute and hopefully help improve treatment options and outcomes of patients and families affected by this terrible disease.

Blob

Pancreatic Cancer is a devastating disease with one of the highest mortality rates of all major cancers and very little public knowledge and awareness. It effects such a broad age group of men and women starting quite young.
We work with these patients every single day and we would love to walk together as friends and colleagues to raise funds for The GI Cancer Institute and in particular Pancreatic Cancer research.
Thanks for your donation!
